Hi, I'm Tara Grieb

Leader, Speaker, Author and Host of

 the Should Theory Podcast

Forging Your Own Path

I am a leader.

I have 23 years of experience in education, 16 of which I have been a school leader. As part of forging my own path, I help other leaders learn how to put people before paper.

I help leaders in schools and corporations lead with transparency, vulnerability and creativity. I break the stereotype of impersonal, stoic leadership and show how leading with love builds community and credibility. I show how to build relationships within organizations in all areas. I model that true and effective leadership is helping others reach their highest potential.

I am a trailblazer.

Graduate high school, go to college, get a Master's Degree, start your career, get married, have a family, work for 30 years, retire, then do your hobbies for enjoyment. These were the expectations laid out for me and for many years, I followed. Until now...

After 47 years on the planet as a people pleaser and rule follower, I finally built the confidence and courage to stop worrying about what I should do or what I am expected to do and start forging my own path, on my terms. This is true in my daily life and in how I lead.

I am a work in progress.

Is there a book in me? Is it helping others? Is it helping leaders connect with and support their people? Yes! Is it still to be discovered? Yes!

Change can be scary. Going against the grain or standing out in a system takes courage. We may not think we have what it takes to shift, to try something new. I know those have been my fears.

What I have realized is this... standing out and forging your path (leading, working, creating, whatever it is that you choose to do) needs to be done in a way that is unapologetically authentic.

Having the flexibility to transition, choose to change direction, admit something isn't working and drop back and punt is essential in life and in leadership.

This is who I am, this is what I do.

I am a mom and a wife.

As a mom of 3 college students in a blended family life can be hectic and exciting! They are all over the northeast doing their thing.

I live with my husband in the Hudson Valley of New York State and love to spend time outside and travel. Here's to forging new paths, leading with love and building relationships!
